We did the Daintree Wanderer tour with Australian Luxury Escapes as a family of 5 on our trip to Cairns from India on Dec 19th. Clayton, our tour guide, was excellent and we can't recommend him enough. He was extremely hospitable and took great care of us, as well as the family of 6 Americans who joined us on the tour. Among the many highlights of our trip were the beautiful river cruise, many stunning look out points we stopped at, beautiful sandy beaches and the walk through the spectacular rainforest. From the time he picked us up at 6:30 am in the morning, Clayton kept supplying us with a steady stream of interesting tidbits about Australia. His passion for the environment was clearly evident throughout the trip as he pointed out many plants, trees, animals and insects that we wouldn't even have known to look for. What was truly amazing was that his energy was very high and didn't flag even towards the end of a long day as he continued to keep the group entertained with a Rainforest quiz and riddles! We would like to thank ALE and Clayton for this amazing trip and for helping us create a forest full of memories to bring back home! The Shankar family

We were picked up on time at our hotel and everything from there on out was perfectly organized. We walked the boardwalks in Daintree learning as we went. Cruised the river searching for the crocodilles...they were not visible on our cloudy cool day. We did see a tree snake and a number of birds. Lunch was an exceptional treat with rescued wallabees to feed and the house python hanging out in the tree while we lunched. The beach stop was interesting. Can't get used to crocodile warnings! The coffee/tea break was a nice touch as was the unique ice cream experience. Rick was a fountain of info on the rainforest. Very enjoyable day.

From being picked up in the morning from our hotel to being dropped off at the end of a fantastic day, we had by far our most memorable and enjoyable day we had on our holiday to Australia. The landscape and views are incredible, and you get a great sense of the diverse and unique wild life that makes up the Daintree. But as with these types of trips what really makes the difference is the guide and our guide, Dr Richard Musgrove was brilliant, his knowledge and enthusiasm for the area and its wildlife was exceptional and he really went out of his way to look after us throughout the day. By far the best guide we’ve had on any guided trip we’ve done. I rarely write online reviews, but because we had such a great time with Richard I felt he and the tour company should get a big thanks! for a great service / trip. Would highly recommend the trip and wished we could do it all again!

Thanks to our guide, Michelle, and of course the Daintree Rainforest, this was quite possibly one of the best tours we have ever been on. On the river, Justin pointed out crocodiles (Lizzie and Scarface), two types of kingfisher, a yellow and black snake, a huge lizard - all close enough to see very well - and of course the incredible vegetation. Back on land and over to the 'dark side' of the river (no mobile, no electricity), we were back in the hands of Michelle who took us on the most incredible day through the rainforest. Her knowledge is second to none and we saw so much, apart from the elusive cassowaries, that it was at times hard to take it all in. The product description is extremely accurate and I can't recommend this trip enough. We thought the reef trip was going to be the highlight of our stay in the area but actually this one was!

we were collected from the hotel in a small mini bus and then had a river cruise ( yes, we did see crocodiles!) and the a walk into the rainforest with our very friendly and knowledgeable guide Rick. It was amazing, a great introduction to the area, the vegetation and the wildlife. My favourite moment was drinking freshly brewed coffee in real cups! and eating Lamingtons inside the rainforest at the picnic table, all prepared by Rick. Wonderful. Lunch at the chosen cafe was delicious but keeping an eye on the wildlife around us was tense, especially for the pythons!!
