We learned so much from Juan and truly got a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Hunting mud crabs in a mangrove forest, swimming in the Daintree, and getting to know more about the region's people and history. One of the highlights of our trip!

My partner and I can't speak highly enough of this tour. Juan was both accomodating and very knowledgable and answered many of our questions about First Nations people, his mob and the history of the land. Going through the mangroves and mud was both hilarious and fun. The Daintree was absolutely magical, and swimming in Mossman Gorge, eating fresh fruit and mud crab that we caught only a few hours before really was the icing on the cake. The tour was educational and fun - couldn't have asked for a better day.

The day I spent with Harry blew my mind. Harry is a proud local kuku yulangi man and it was a great honour to have had the opportunity to spend the day learning about the wonderful culture of his mob and his beautiful country. I have a huge thirst to learn more and more about the amazing culture of the oldest living culture on this planet and in this one day I probably learnt more than I ever could have dreamer. You enter the magic.(..I call it magic anyway! ) of the intricate relationship between people and land..every plant..every living creature have a relationship with the guardians of this land and that one day has stayed with me forever. Harry was a brilliant guide and showed us so much. Taught us do much. We learnt about all the plants that provide food medicine and so.much more! My favourite was the soapy leaf! We learnt about the animals that live on this land...and this vegan even arevtge head off a red ant! Delicious like citrus!!! We heard dream time stories as we looked at different land formations.. not one metre is without a story . We hunted mud crabs...this vegan only carried the spear to look the part but I would have eaten one if Harry had speared it for me!! When in Rome! We sat and yarned at lunch by the beach eating damper as Harry spoke of the different mobs and tribes totems and how everything has a use and the relationship system between the different tribes The respect to only eat what you need and what to hunt only for special occasions. No wonder this country was a paradise on earth before white fellas came. We went to so many different places .. finishing with a walk and a swim in the Mossman Gorge. I could write on and on....all I can say is you just cannot visit FNQ without getting a tour with this mob. You will be blind to where you are...your eyes and heart will be totally opened forever and you will never view this part of the world the same way unless you have the privilege of walking the land with a true local. That one day has stayed with me 2 months later..the magic got under my skin and into my heart forever. My recommendation is you just must must must book a tour with Walkabout....I'm going to return to do all the other tours on offer...can't get enough of this amazing culture and being on country and seeing below the surface. I can't thank you enough Harry for giving me one of the most amazing experiences I ve ever had. Kudos to you Juan for setting this amazing experience up. Everyone in Australia should do this as it brings amazing understanding and respect for the land we are on. Thank you Thank you....life changing!!!! See you again in near future for another day with you mob!!! Respect!

Aaron was a terrific tour guide, entertaining, informative and very generous with his knowledge. It was a wonderful experience thoroughly enjoyable. The aboriginal background to our native heritage was explained in detail at each experience and the cultural significance of living off the land was memorable and at times tasty, sweet and bitter but a wonderful experience

We had a fantastic day with our very knowledgeable guide Aaron. We learned about bush medicine and bush tucker, and spent some time in the Daintree and Mossman gorge, and had a nice lunch by the creek. Given how much rain the area had over the week, he was still able to create a unique experience for us and fill the day with fun and interesting activities, even though a couple of things were washed out. Great tour, great local company. Highly recommend!

We loved our experience with walkabout. Great way to see daintree and learn about its history. Small group tour which is also really great, Juan did an amazing job making sure we had all our questions answered and taught us about bush tucker and medicines. The highlight for me was mud crab hunting through the mangroves.

Juan was a terrific guide. He took us hunting for crabs in the mangroves, showed us ochre as paint, talked about bush tucker and medicine , crocs, as well as giving us some history of the Douglas Shire. Our lunch was delicious and plentiful. A swim at the end of the day was a lovely way to finish. It was refreshing to meet a man so passionate about his country.
